Sekhmet was a powerful Egyptian goddess, often referred to as "the powerful one," associated with war, healing, and protection, and also known as the Eye of Re. She was depicted as a woman with the head of a lioness, often wearing a solar disc and the uraeus (sacred serpent) on her head. Sekhmet was a figure of both destruction and creation, embodying the duality of the sun's rays, which could be life-giving and destructive.
